ATLANTA, Jan. 19 -- Healthcare, hospital and interactive marketers now have one more blog to bookmark:
www.aviddesignblog.com.
Launched earlier this month by the award-winning new media strategy and design group
AVID Design, the blog offers advice, humor and observations for online healthcare and hospital marketing and advertising professionals.
However, the blog is also designed to appeal to other online enthusiasts interested in related topics such as SEO, SEM, writing for the Web, content development, CMS, link building, design, strategy, the Internet, computers and technology.
“We are competing against a lot of blogs that write about similar topics,” said AVID Design Communication Specialist Derek Rudnak. “Although we tailor our message for healthcare and hospital marketing, we believe that we have something unique to share with people in other industries.” For example,
“Writing for the Web: Formatting Your Word Processor” explored a very simple but overlooked technique that can improve Web content and design.
Along with illustrating best practices, Rudnak said AVID Design will use humor and pop culture references to not only add some flavor, but to make potentially challenging or even boring subjects more digestible. For instance, a recent blog connected
Little Britain’s Vicky Pollard “Yeah, but, No but” catchphrase to an
analysis about keyword tags and metadata. A future blog will relate characters from
The Breakfast Club to search engine spiders and link building.
“There’s no reason why these subjects have to be written in an entirely dry or clinical style,” said Rudnak. “There’s plenty of that out there on the Web. With our blog, you’ll never know what you can expect except for knowing that the writing will be always be informative and entertaining.”
