 ATLANTA and COLUMBUS, Ga., April 23 -- A Columbus, Georgia neonatal center may be a little closer to getting a state-of-the-art incubator now that it has launched a fundraising blog site that can accept donations.
Created for Scott’s Ride for Miracles (rideformiracles.wordpress.com), the blog integrates an AVID Design module that lets donors make secure, online donations.
The fundraiser is centered on Scott Ressmeyer, vice president of Country’s Barbecue in Columbus, Georgia, who turns 50 on May 21. In honor of this monumental occasion, Ressmeyer is planning to ride through all contiguous 48 states on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
A philanthropist and supporter of the Children’s Miracle Network at The Medical Center (part of the Columbus Regional Healthcare System) for many years, Ressmeyer wanted to make his milestone birthday into an occasion that would benefit sick and injured children at The Medical Center.
His goal is to raise much-needed funds to help purchase a GE Omni Giraffe Bed for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Medical Center. These highly specialized beds cost approximately $35,000 each.
