AVID Design Mentioned in Forbes’ ‘How the Internet is Changing Healthcare’

August 03, 2009

ATLANTA, Aug. 3—A recent Forbes’ article, “How the Internet is Changing Healthcare,” featured a quote from AVID Design CEO and Executive Director Tom Brand.

The leader of the award-winning healthcare marketing group supported the article’s notion that “patients now have access to more health information than ever before,” in particular, due to social media such as Twitter, Facebook and Second Life. Brand said social media’s been a “huge buzz in the past six months” in industry chatter and with requests from clients.

The article also featured Lee Aase of the Mayo Clinic. Aase and the Mayo Clinic are widely considered to be among the most forward-thinking and early-adopting members of the healthcare and hospital marketing community, especially in regards to social media.

The article’s timing couldn’t be better for AVID Design. Not only is their next newsletter feature going to further explore how social media is changing healthcare, but they also days from launching registration for an upcoming social media workshop they will be presenting with Greystone.net.
