Tom Brand
President and Executive Director
Tom Brand founded AVID Design in 1996, with the objective of providing expert multimedia design services for Web and CD-ROM purposes. Tom provides Senior Creative Direction for AVID, guides its business strategy and is active in helping the firm to cultivate new business relationships.
Tom and AVID have provided strategic planning and consulting to such healthcare organizations as Palomar Pomerado Healthcare of San Diego, Methodist Healthcare System of Houston, and to companies such as SONY and Akzo Nobel. Previously, he served as VP of Creative Services at Greystone.Net (a provider of Internet services and content to healthcare companies) where he worked with clients such as Stanford University Hospital and Borgess Health Alliance in Michigan. Earlier in his career, he held graphic design positions at BellSouth Advertising and Publishing, and outdoor advertising company Formetco,Inc.
In addition to his agency work, Tom has instructed new media courses at Atlanta’s acclaimed Portfolio Center, and is a frequent speaker at industry events. An instrument-rated private pilot, he also volunteers services to Angel Flight of Georgia.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Art and Illustration from Carson-Newman College.
Dean Richardson
Vice President of Business Development
As Vice President of Business Development for AVID Design, Dean Richardson is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
Dean also brings more than 15 years of sales and project management experience to AVID and has been instrumental in developing and maintaining the company’s relationships with such prominent healthcare groups as Cape Cod Healthcare, Sharp Healthcare of San Diego, and Columbus Regional Healthcare System.
He’s managed large-scale CD-ROM, Web design and multi-media projects for numerous healthcare organizations, as well as worked with heavy-hitters like SONY, Lockheed Martin, Akzo Nobel, Bank of America and NASCAR throughout his diverse career.
Richardson holds a degree in business management from Georgia State University.
