Project: Interactive CD-ROM Presentation on JSF X-35A Lockheed Martin produces the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft. The organization was awarded one of two Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Concept Demonstration contracts by the U.S. government for the aircraft that today is known as the F/A-22 Raptor. The contract included the development, manufacture and flight test of two demonstrator aircraft by each team, with the winner proceeding to the manufacturing phase. To support the selection process, AVID GOV developed an interactive “First Flight” presentation on CD-ROM. Recipients of the CD-ROM were able to view videos of the demonstrator aircraft’s first flight, as well as footage of pilots’ reactions. The presentation also included high-quality still images of the aircraft and printable text-based information, such as a press release, fact sheet and historical timeline of the project. The presentation enabled Lockheed Martin to present its prototype and capabilities in a visually compelling manner, while also providing a compact information resource for decision-makers. Lockheed Martin and its partners, Northrop Grumman and BAE Systems, were ultimately selected as the contractor. Client: Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company Project: Interactive CD-ROM Presentation on F/A-22 Raptor News Coverage Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Air Force again relied on AVID GOV to develop an interactive CD-ROM that presents positive news coverage on the F/A-22 Raptor. The CD-ROM includes a graphical map of the nation that lets the viewer click on specific states to see actual video footage of news segments. The CD-ROM is designed as a lobbyist tool, to facilitate awareness and help gain support among legislators for sustaining funding for the aircraft’s production. Client: Celebrating Rural Georgia Project: Interactive CD-ROM for 2002 Conference Celebrating Rural Georgia (CRG) is a collaboration of public and private organizations committed to the betterment of rural Georgia. It produces biennial conferences that focus on both celebrating and improving aspects of rural life, and is geared toward local governments, downtown developers, arts advocates, employers and others. AVID GOV was chosen to develop a CD-ROM highlighting CRG’s 2002 conference. The multimedia presentation integrated music and photos of rural Georgia with conference information, including the program agenda, session materials and speaker biographies. Embedded Web links also took viewers to conference sponsor Web sites. Conference attendees received the CD-ROM as a useful resource. Client: U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) Project: Interactive Training CD-ROM for Family Readiness Group Assistants The U.S. Army Forces Command’s (FORSCOM) Family Readiness Program helps to maintain stability for families of soldiers who have been deployed abroad. AVID GOV created an interactive CD-ROM that is being used as a training tool and resource for FORSCOM’s Readiness Group Assistants. The CD-ROM presentation provides orientation information to help prepare new Readiness Group Assistants in supporting the needs of soldiers’ families. It includes video segments covering topics such as job responsibilities and ethics, as well as downloadable expense forms, protocol for performance appraisals, and embedded Web links to other organizations that can help to provide assistance. The CD-ROM was first distributed at FORSCOM’s June 2004 conference in Atlanta. Client: U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) Project: Web Site Development The U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) Family Readiness Program strives to assist families of deployed soldiers. To assist the command in accomplishing this important mission, AVID GOV designed and developed the organization’s first-ever Family Readiness Support Assistant’s (FRSA) Web site. The Web site has assisted USAREUR HQs with establishing and maintaining excellent communications between the families of deployed soldiers and the command’s FRSAs who support them. The Web site has proven to be an effective communications tool, keeping families connected and informed of critical information and support activities. The Web site supports over 1,000 users located throughout Europe. |
