Project Overview
Continuing a tradition of introducing cutting-edge design to improve hospital Website experiences for both internal and external users, AVID Design recently partnered with MCGHealth to develop a remarkably advanced interactive online media center.

Technically a module for AVID Design’s hospital content management system, AVID CMS™ (on which MCGHealth’s Website is built), the latest edition of AVID Design’s Media Center streamlines and automates processes for locating, consuming and gathering content. Key features include:

Updated Online Video Media Player

  • Scalable media player: With the click of a button on the media player’s control panel, users can instantly toggle between standard and full-screen viewing modes.

  • Intuitive content category selector: Conveniently situated adjacent to the media player, a dropdown menu lists MCGHealth’s service lines and centers of excellence, enabling users to select a preferred category of relevant content.

  • Carousel video library: Also situated adjacent to the media player, a sliding horizontal carousel presents users with thumbnails of relevant content (based on their choices in the category selector).

Improved Editorial Search and Media Asset Management

  • Media-only access: A non-restrictive media-only portal enables journalists and other media members to easily access more advanced media center features.

  • Departmental and keyword searchability: Along with traditional search functionality, users may also identify relevant content with an intuitive content category selector.

  • Automatic asset collection: All news releases are accompanied with a complete collection of available assets (e.g., high-resolution graphics and photos, B-roll video footage) that are easily uploaded and organized via the AVID CMS™.

  • Tracking and analytics: Pre-installed tracking codes for user visits and downloaded assets automatically generate performance metrics and analytics.
